Managing Joint Arthritis Pain: Hyaluronic acid (HA) or “Gel” Injections – #HyaluronicAcid is a naturally occurring substance in your joints that acts as both a lubricant + shock absorber. As osteoarthritis progresses, this vital component decreases in both quantity and quality, contributing to pain and reduced function. When injected into affected joints (commonly knees), HA supplements work in several ways:
• Enhancing lubrication between joint surfaces
• Reducing inflammation
• Potentially stimulating your body’s natural HA production
.
Clinical research shows these injections (for some patients) can provide 3-6 mos of symptomatic relief. They’re typically recommended when conservative treatments haven’t provided adequate relief.
– Benefits vary between individuals
– High molecular weight preparations may provide better results
– Effects are temporary and may require repeat treatments
– Most common side effects include temporary injection site pain/swelling
– Insurance coverage varies significantly
– Most effective for mild to moderate osteoarthritis
.
HA injections aren’t a cure for joint degeneration, but they can be part of a comprehensive management plan + may help delay more invasive procedures. #JointHealth #ArthritisManagement

I just got HA and do have a little cartilage left so dont need stupid Glucosamine 🦵🏻😳
What about prp?
I have bone on bone and knee replacement was the only solution! My first knee replacement took 4 years together over! Heparin induced blood clots nearly killed me!
I finely got my first gel injection and it has been wonderful’ the pain was horrible now it is dulled down and I can walk again!
The anachoic areas of cartilage on US of knee arent void of cartilage they are lacking signal. So bones are really not bone on bone. They lack a signal. Postmorton studies show this as well.
i- use max strength aspercreme (lidocaine)pain relief cream i dont want the injection nor the knee replacement) I am doing fine with aspercreme pain relief thank you😊
My gel injections are three medicines when injected. Lidocaine, Durolane Gel, Cortizone. Bone on bone for years and seems to help me quite well.
he said for BONE ON BONE ARTHRITIS
you are soooo wrong,I couldn't walk 3 months last year from the pain of my knee , and I inject Hyaluronic Acid ,and its one year that I have no pain and I am walking perfectly,I don't know who you are that spreading this horrible misinformation ,what a sham .
That doctor is totally wrong! I have bone on bone in my knee and had excruciating pain I couldn't walk more than two or three feet. They gave me cortisone injections which did nothing and cortisone destroys cartilage. Finally I got a hyaluronic acid injection and 4 Weeks later I had zero pain it was like I never had any problem with my knee. It's been almost a year and I still have absolutely no pain whatsoever. Don't listen to this guy!!!!
You don’t know what works for everyone you are not God you problem is y want to make decisions for people and date is not right you don’t live with the consequences
Ive been getting gel injections for 6 years, they work great. last 6 mo to a year. Had one knee replaced.
The Industrial Medical Complex kills more people annually than any amount of Mass Killings with guns. So which should we ban?
Until you wanna be hacks can creat like God does. You’re a bunch of shade tree mechanics. Primitive
Then what else is there to use other than a knee replacement
I'e been bone on bone for over a year and just had a durolane injection and I'm in worse shape now. It was also extremely painful. Waiting for a joint replacement in canada has been torture.
Totally false. I have bone on bone and running at 6 months post injection with no pain and full motion. It works great.
I have mild knee osteo and scheduled for HA injection next week. I hooe it works.
Gee, my orthopedic surgeon said I was bone-on-bone and said I should try hyaluronic acid injections.
But what will work though?
So then the only thing left for bone on bone is knee replacement?
I was told the gel shots don't work for everyone. I tried one 4 months ago. It worked great for about 3 months. Not 100% pain free, but way better. Medicare pays for a gel injection every 6 months. I will get another injection in 2 months.
the truth is, Hylauronic acid is quickly absorbed by the body and it also stimulates it to produce more of the acid naturally – studies show positive results
Some Dr. Said if you have bone-on-bone you cannot move your knee.
I still have cartilage..my doctor laughed at the gel..just promoted pain killers which I denied…cortisone shots wear off too soon. He didnt want to try much ..so I left him..now going solo with pain.. severe tricompartmental osteoathritis in both knees diagnosed age 43..now age 46
I'm bone on bone left knee they work maybe 3 month I've had appox 17 injection in 21 years
Ouch
Sorry this is false. I have bone on bone arthritis in both knees and have had two rounds of HA injections, both of which gave me multiple months of improved pain and mobility. Yes, the second round did not help as much as the first round but that’s to be expected.
Synthetic synovial fluid injections have been working for me for going on 4 years now.
And, yes, I was told that it was "bone on bone" – only option was total knee replacement. 🤨
HA injections are not designed to heal bone on bone but to strengthen the matrix that supports the knee joint. He is not saying anything new here nor had he built the case to not use them. Like many docs, wants to go straight to replacement which is not necessary most of the time.
I must have times these just right. Just had my 3rd series of them, 6 months apart. They are amazing and last longer then cortisone these days. They last about 5 month and like a lithium ion battery, when they go, they go quick. Wish I could get them every 5 months.
Great advice
I was getting cortisone shots and Doctor said I’d be better off with the gel due to bone on bone arthritis, the gel did absolutely nothing I,went back to cortisone.
I was afraid of that. I am still going to try. My right knee is bone on bone. Hopefully it will help my left knee from getting worse. Surgery is on my future.
Your explanation makes perfect sense, but I got the gel injection 2 weeks ago and my knee feels about 90% better – does this mean I had more cartilage left than I was told? The cortisone shot did nothing after about 36 hours.
Hallo
Shout out to Gel One.
Your so talented. Thank you for this information
Thank You. Good to Know.
Try telling that to the insurance company. They forced me to deal with 5 of those shots, that we knew i was too damaged for, before approving my replacement.
OK well if gel injection don't work. What will work? Do you know honestly?
I love watching these, so much info
