Easy Way to Decompress Your Back #Shorts

Dr. Rowe shows an easy way to decompress your back at home.

This exercise will focus on a pulling motion in the back, known as traction, to help relieve pressure off spinal joints quickly. It’s especially good for bulging discs causing lower back pain and sciatica.

It requires no special equipment and may give relief within seconds.

Let us know how it works for you!

  1. There was time when I wanted one of my roommates to hang me upside down like a rabbit in order to relieve the pain in my back, instead he came up with this contraption with a board and I used his shoes, which were like clown shoe size and when I was hoisted up I slipped out of the shoes. I made sure to have a pillow handy just in case something like this was going to happen. Oh well 😊

  2. The first part goes quite well, but very often when I set my weight back down my back hurts like crazy, as if something is maybe getting pinched by the spring of my spine settling back together ??

  3. What does it mean if you dont feel anything while doing it? Like as if my arms, shoulders and back are just like held together as a monolith and unable to get that pull feeling? Ive only ever been able to feel it on the upside things you can hang off of

  4. Nice technique. I employ an inversion table where you find yourself upside-down ( I also do crunches on the table once a week ) every morning for 3 minutes. I also use leg lifts, crunches and plank exercises. I have sciatica and other sports related injuries however since I employed this regimen 10 years ago I have managed to avoid any debilitating episodes.

  5. I have daily lower back pain and I so badly want to decompress my lower spine. Anytime I do this though, I can feel it’s going to hurt sooooo bad that I stop myself from ever popping it. It feels like my lower back is gonna get thrown out if I go through with it.

I wish somebody could pull my lower spine like they do with the neck strap to their necks.

  6. I usually do these full arm extension, then "drop my self" a little and immediately hold. everyone around me can here my back pop like bubble wrap, of course my back muscles tense up but after 10 seconds they release and my back pops more. definite relief.
