Spinal Manipulation to the Thoracic Spine

John Gibbons is a registered Osteopath, Lecturer and Author and is discussing how to assess (and then subsequently manipulate) the spinal motion of the thoracic spine using Dr Lovett (1903) and the laws or principles of Fryette (1918), John also manipulates with a HVT / Grade 5 technique to the thoracic spine and rib cage. Some of these techniques can be taught but only to skilled therapists and manipulations plus more is taught on the Spinal course at Core Elements in swindon. The technique demonstrated is called a thoracic thrust or an AP thrust.

  1. Got guy on building site to do this to me last week🎉😢
No towel and he went hard and fast cra6 popping nois and a sudden sharp pain in my hart was extream

Now afterwards I’m suffering worse pain only in upper left chest area
I’m hopeing it fix on own ❤

  2. Asked a buddy that said he was good at it to do this once after a long shift on my feet. My back cracked a bunch. I said, "Damn, I feel like I just grew an inch." He said, "Me too." Lol

  3. I tried this alone with a small rolled towel (about the size of a grapefruit) on my back and the wall. Honestly, I didn't do a great job of cracking the area, but a lot of the tension was still released!

  4. I just want to say my personal opinion on chiropractor, since i had spine issue and been in chiropractor 5 times, nothing changed.
It is just a way to release tension of joints or sometimes nerves, it rarely does any help with putting in place vertebrae, specifically if the dislocation is caused by accident or wrong posture in for a long time. The vertebrae that has a weakened or dislocated nucleus pulposus does not get fixed with chiropractor. It may need surgery or prayers to god, i seen miracles and i just have to say god can cure a handicaps. Just be humble to and spend your life to serve and help others , if god hears your cry in your heart and you are the person god wanted you to be i promise you you will be cured without a surgery.
    Alhamdulillah 🤲🏻 Amen.

  5. Just wanted to point out The towel is over T7 area. It needs to be over T5 which is the apex of a Kyphosis. Thats my apex and yet chiros did it lower on me because they didnt realize. If someone kyphosis is T7 then yes. Most kyphosis is T7, T5 is a lesser common spot.
