Waking up with neck and lower back pain isn’t always about what you did during the day. Sometimes, it’s caused by how you sleep at night. Sleeping on your stomach can twist the neck, arch the lower back, and put pressure on the chest and abdominal area for hours at a time. Over time, this builds tension and strain, which is why the pain shows up first thing in the morning. This video breaks down what’s happening inside the body and why changing your sleeping position can make a big difference.

  1. I absolutely hate the feeling of anything touching my back. I hate leaning back in chairs, I hate backpacks, I hate sleeping on my back. My snoring gets ATROCIOUS when I'm sleeping on my back. Stomach and sides for me. And I fold up a throw blanket to match the height of my head so I'm not bending it to contort to a pillow.
