My glutes hurt when I get into position with a braced core
My checks go as follows, bar in the middle of my feet, i hinge my hips back as I lower into position, grab the bar, engage my core, do a practice shoulder blade pinch, set, pull slack by pinching shoulder blades, hinge my hips as my shoulder blade pinch, my shins contact the bar, standup. This should be a fluid movement and the bar should be on the way up as you begin to stand up.
This is what I tried to teach my latina ex girlfriend at the Morris campus in 2013, and she didn't do it correctly at 65 pounds and woke up with a back ache the next day.
Tysm for this mate one time i tried doing deadlift but i didn't knew that my posture was wrong the time i lifted the bar suddenly my lower back felt instant pain and i had to drop the bar the pain was intense and it lasted more than a month

Tried bracing my glutes today before pulling and I felt my glutes pretty sore like someone used them as body bags
So far I can't seem to keep my core tight and hold my breath all the way down into position but once I get everything set I suck in real quick like I'm sucking through a straw and then hold it. I have a pretty big gut so I think that makes it hard for me getting in position so I can't hold my breath all the way into it.
What should I do if I already got the back pain? 😂
