How to keep a healthy spine for life? – Dr. V G Rajan



In general losing weight and maintaining healthy weight eating nutritious food, regular exercise and not smoking are the habits to improve spine function at any age. When the pain is cute and severe we use nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications along with muscle relaxants for a short duration of 5-7 days in combination with physical modalities like ultra sound and IFT which help improving and relieving the muscles. Once the cute pain subsides we start therapeutic back exercises which help in improving the flexibility and range of movement of spine while building the strength of the back muscle. Finally in the present world lifestyle posture plays a very important role so it is very important to maintain good posture while sitting in office or at home to minimize the strain on back muscle or the spinal cord.
