Finger tendon glides and finger taps are great exercises to improve mobility in the tendons and joints.
Finally, finger extension with or without a band will help stretch the muscles on the inside of the fingers, and strengthen the muscles on the outside.

Bring back the old disclaimer alert it’s hilarious lol I’m a boxer I can’t tell if it’s arthritis or just hurts. But every time I land a jab it’s really hurts and it’s been 4 months now :/
These exercises are great for me to do as hand warm-ups before practicing classical guitar and piano.I add a few more stretches, such as rotating wrists, and gently pulling the digits back one at a time with the other hand, and I’m good to go without pain. I think playing a musical instrument that requires finger dexterity is great for keeping the doctor away. And, it’s fun and interesting, too!
Thank you for this! I had pain in one finger for months, went away eventually. I knew some of these from previous therapy for wrist, but like the use of the ball and band. Have been following your channel for years, always great tips!

I have finger arthritis but (so far) only in my pinkies and usually only my right-hand pinkie, which is crooked because of the arthritis. Currently it's just this finger that's in pain. Any thoughts or suggestions for alleviating pain in just one pinkie? Or should I just do the whole-hand exercises? Thanks.

Hey Dr joe, love your videos.. I get pain from bowling in the winter months where the pain goes from my elbow to the tips of my finger .. feels like a Charlie horse. Pinched nerve of some sort… wondering if you know of some stretches I can do to help prevent that from happening?

For the band exercise I find using a small hair band (the wrapped non-slip ones) works best. Also helps with tennis/golfers elbow. Thanks for the video DrJo!
